Three major cross country ski centers are within a 10-minute drive.

Freestyle Skiing & Riding

Work on your park skills in one of Stowe Mountain Resort's several man-made terrain parks. These parks range in the size of the features from small to large to allow you to work your way up and improve at each level. Dog Sled Tours at Stoweflake

Enjoy a ride behind a team of Siberian Huskies throughout Stoweflake grounds! Go for 20 minute rides before or after dinner from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM every Thursday* and Saturday this winter! Reservations and more pricing information by calling 802-760-1126.

STOWE WINTER ACTIVITIES

Moonlight Snowshoe Tours

Umiak's Moonlight Snowshoe Tour will lead you to a hidden sugar-house in the woods by the light of the moon (or headlamp). Enjoy a toasty fire, award winning Vermont Cabot cheddar cheese, crackers, Cold Hollow's hot apple cider, stargazing and good friends. Bring your own favorite bottle of wine if you like.

Sleigh rides

One of the most romantic and fun ways to enjoy Stowe's winter wonderland are popular horse drawn sleigh rides at Gentle Giants in Stowe. Take a trip back in time as you glide through snow-filled meadows and woods aboard an open sleigh. A sleigh ride in Stowe is a treat to remember.

Dog sledding

Take a dog sledding tour on Stoweflake's trails! Step back in time before automobiles and snow machines were a way of life, when dog sledding and running dogs were the norm. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a highlight of any winter vacation. 20-minute Tours at Stoweflake on Thursday and Saturday evenings. Reservations required.

Snowmobiles

For those who prefer the fast track, snowmobile tours can be arranged through Stoweflake's Mountain Vacation Planners' Desk. Experience the feeling of guiding your snow machine at high speed en route to a beautiful view as part of a guided tour. For more experienced snowmobilers, the Stowe area has an array of VAST trails that you can explore on your own. Stoweflake does not provide equipment.
