Some come to Stowe for skiing, others for hiking, and others for the numerous Great for Kids and family activities.  But no matter what the reason may be, you are sure to find a great event going on in Stowe in all times of the year.  Choose from events such as the Stoweflake Balloon Festival, the British Invasion, or the Winter Carnival.  The varied event list in Stowe is sure to add enjoyment to any vacation. Sat, Feb 27-28. The Main Event Series is New England's top progressive freestyle snow boarding competition! In its seventh season, the series has qualifiers around New England and then the Finals will be at Stowe. Riders have the chance to compete their way from their local mountain to the Burton U.S. Open.  
Sun, Feb 28. When planning a visit to Stowe this winter, think about coming for the Stowe Derby! This famous downhill cross-country is celebrating its 65th anniversary with activities for the whole family. A blast for all levels of skiers!Special activities include kick sleds races, games, food and plenty more .Experience the thrill of the Stowe Derby.
Wed, Mar 17. St. Patrick’s Day Hunt for the Golden Goggles at the Stowe Mountain Resort. This is a fun geo-cache event leading you to a secret Stowe prize. Also don’t miss a special ticket offer of a $49 one-day Adult, Junior or Senior Lift Tickets all day long.  
Balloon Festival July 9-11. More than 25 hot-air balloons will soar through the sky during Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa’s 23rd Annual Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival. Sponsored by Union Bank, this event is one of Vermont’s most popular summer celebrations.
Friday July 23. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at The Crossroads Motorcycle Rally of Vermont.  The event will be held on the river at Farr's Field in Waterbury. There will be camping, live music, food, biker games, and Flying Hogs.  It is certainly a must-see event for any motorcycle enthusiast.  
August 13-15. 800 antique & classic cars are on display. Some of the highlights include a giant automotive Flea Market, a car corral, and the antique car parade through town. Stowe has hosted the Antique and Classic Car Meet for more than 50 years, and there’s a reason why thousands of classic car aficionados return year after year.  
Museum Sept. 17-19. The British Invasion is a Four Day Celebration and Salutation to the Great British Motorcar and all manner of other things British. Any car enthusiast should plan to be here. Over 600 British-made automobiles fill the streets of the Stowe area.  
January 18-24, 2010.  Celebrate winter in Vermont along with the locals at the Stowe Winter Carnival.  The multitude of activities in this weeklong festival include ice carving contests, ski races, games and parties all over the Stowe Area.  If you are a lover of winter, plan to be in Stowe during this celebration of the season.
     
Sat, Feb 6. The Green Mountain Club invites you and your friends and family for an invigorating day of free snowshoe demos, guided snowshoe hikes to local peaks and other exciting activities. Demo snowshoes available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Special activities for kids are scheduled.
Sat, Feb 6-7. Watch the UVM Winter Carnival at Stowe Mountain Resort. Enjoy fast skiers and fit racers! Watch the action as collegiate athletes compete for top place.
