EXAMPLE OF EXPERIENCES
Llama Walk and Farm Tour:
Travel to Apple Cheek Farm to visit with llamas, horses, chickens, and emus! Then head out and let the llamas lighten the load and brighten the day as you take them for a hike and have a fireside (in winter) picnic.
Reservoir Expedition Paddle:
Campers will be carefully guided in stable canes to explore the Waterbury Reservoir. Our expedition will wander to a beach camp picnic with time for lunch, games, snacks, and forest discovery.
Mountain Biking Adventures:
Campers start up the Stowe Recreation Path and head off into the woods on a variety of single-track trail explorations from relaxed rides for learners to challenging routes for the most advanced. The new Stowe dirt track provides an alternative style of fun with an outer ring of up-hill / down-hill rollers and an inner ring pump track. Mountain biking in Stowe provides something for everyone.
Notch Road Adventure and Cook Out:
Campers will visit the notch road and explore short side trails, giant boulders, and tiny climbs in and around the notch. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and conclude our adventures with a fireside snack.
Bolton Adventure Center:
Campers travel to Bolton Mountain Resort to experience their new stand-alone pole-constructed challenge course. Trained facilitators will introduce our campers to the latest features such as a new zip line and the popular giant swing.
Stowe Rec. Path Discovery:
Campers may bike, roller blade, or walk the Stowe Recreational Path. We will stop for stream-side exploration, a picnic lunch, and a great game of “Eagle Eye.”
Learn to distinguish the bounders, hoppers, walkers, and waddlers who leave their tracks in our Vermont forests. Then head out for a snowshoe tour of the woods to look for tracks and play some games with your own tracks too!
All Sleigh rides are not the same. You will sample both resort and farm rides to capture the full range of sleigh riding adventure. While on your adventure, you will take time between rides to do some hillside sliding on Apple Tree’s own sleds.
Fishing Adventures:
Campers travel to select fishing holes in search of pumpkins seeds, perch, small mouth, large mouth, bull-head, rainbow, and brown.
Petra Cliffs Outdoor or Indoor Climbing Adventure:
Campers explore climbs here in Smugglers notch or Bolton notch or travel to South Burlington to enjoy an indoor climbing experience inside the state-off-the-art indoor climbing gym at Petra Cliffs.
